Vijay Come back In 3 idiots?

The biggest buzz in Kollywood film circles is that Ilayathalapati Vijay has bounced back into the much publicised Tamil remake of 3 Idiots!
This Shankar directed film is in the news for all the wrong reasons ever since Gemini Film circuit decided to remake it in Tamil and Telugu.

Vijay and Mahesh Babu who were supposed to do the film, walked off in the last minute citing reason of date problem.

Later there were media reports that Gemini was planning to go ahead with the project with Suriya in both the languages. And now the latest rumour doing the rounds is that Vijay has once again bounced back and is holding fresh discussions.

When contacted, Vijay preferred to smile and maintain a studious silence.
Meanwhile, Shankar is planning to shoot the portions involving Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana and Sathyaraj in Ooty by next week followed by a long schedule in Dehradun.

Watch this space till confirmed report comes.

Vijay Meet Seeman

Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay's political ambitions have been put on hold according to recent developments in his camp. Vijay's father SA Chandrasekaran has categorically said that Vijay will enter politics not before he becomes forty.
As the political maneuvers have stopped, Vijay got back seriously into his career scenario and is looking for the best of times ever. There was the news of Seeman directing Vijay in a film titled ‘Pagalavan’, but the thought was watered down later, or it was romoured to be.
But the news reaching us now says that the revolutionary film 'Pagalavan' is very much on. After hearing the full story from Seeman recently, Vijay and he have even gone to level of discussing the cast and crew of the film to start the project as early as possible.
One thing Vijay requested from Seeman is that while he will do everything to finish the film non-stop, Seeman will have to restrain himself from making political statements that may jeopardize the progress of the film.

Vijay Enter Politics At 40-SAC

Putting rest to speculations that Vijay is getting ready to test political waters in the forthcoming elections to Tamil Nadu Assembly, the actor’s father and filmmaker S A Chandrasekar has said his son would take the political plunge at the age of 40 (He is 36 now.)
“Vijay always wanted to serve the people. So he would sure enter politics. But not now. He would definitely come to politics at the age of forty,” the noted director has said in an interview.
Stating that the actor’s recent release ‘Kavalan’ faced unprecedented hurdles, Chandrasekar said, “Some forces which don’t like Vijay’s political plans want to ensure that he doesn’t have a successful acting career.”
“Vijay is no match to MGR,” he said and added: “But they are taking him to the heights of MGR.” On his recent meeting with AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa, Chandrasekar said, “It was my concern for the society that made me to meet her.”

Vijay thanks Online Vijay Fans: Video

In a rare video appearance Ilaiya Thalapathi Vijay has thanked his Online Fans for their support and good deeds they have been doing.
A visibly relieved Vijay is very modest after ensuring a gala release of ‘Kavalan’. He asks his fans to forgive him for releasing ‘Kavalan’ one day later than announced.
He says ‘Kavalan’ release against odds was a new experience for him.

MGR, Rajini and then Vijay: Survey

There is more on Vijay's future plans. Yesterday we said that Vijay has selected his next three producers of his films and he is hoping the experienced hands will further help him to retain his reputation that was lost and found.
Vijay who met the media has further talked about the kinds of films he would be doing in the future. Vijay wants to do a film in the line of Rajini's 'Raja Chinna Roja' which will cater entirely to the children audience. He is also interested in doing a radical film that will talk about the dwindling of agriculture and the lives of farmers.
Meanwhile there is an interesting stat out in favour of Vijay. According to a random survey conducted by the students of Statistics Department from the reputed Loyola College has revealed that Vijay's films are box office hits irrespective of their success in first release.
They say after MGR and Rajini, it is only Vijay who has repeat audiences for his films. After the two legends only Vijay films are having re-releases in single screens and over a period his films end up as commercial hits.
Not that all. The survey reveals another fascinating point. Even in video piracy markets, Vijay films fetch huge profits, much more than films of any other actors of today. Even the catastrophic 'Sura' turned over around Rupees 4 crores in the piracy market it says.

Bodyguard in form-The Hindu Kavalan Review..!

Kaavalan
Genre: Romance
Director: Siddique
Cast: Vijay, Asin, Raj Kiran, Vadivelu
Storyline: The hero enters the house as a bodyguard, only to find himself in a quagmire of love.
Bottomline: Vijay on a winning trac

After quite a while, a Vijay film ushers in freshness. The actor who vehemently followed an agenda of unrealistic action and larger-than-life heroism for the past few years has finally relented and tried out a line that works in his favour. Subtle acting is his forte — in the past Kadhalukku Mariyaadhai, Kannukul Nilavu and Love Today proved it amply. Also, playing a slightly anti part in Piriyamanavalae and a strongly negative role in Piriyamudan, Vijay showed that his potential extends beyond mere gimmickry. Now again in Kaavalan (U), looking fit and very much in form, Vijay impacts. Ideally, this should have been Vijay's 50th film.
The rapids you normally witness in Vijay's stunt-filled sojourns may be missing in Kaavalan but its calmness like that of a gently flowing stream overpowers you — the last 40 minutes keep you glued.
Director Siddique and Vijay have taken a long time to get back together — Friends marked their first outing. But Kaavalan has been worth the wait. After his Malayalam Bodyguard with Dileep and Nayantara in the lead, Siddique has gone in for a Tamil remake. Siddique's characterisations and comedy sense always place him apart. In Kaavalan, Vadivelu tries to repeat the magic of Friends, and, to an extent, succeeds.
Boominathan (Vijay) is incredibly loyal to Muthuramalingam (Raj Kiran) and when he is made to believe that the senior's life is in jeopardy, he rushes to Semmanur, where the man lives. Soon a series of unexpected happenings change his life.
Vijay's lucky charm, Asin Thottumkal, joins him. Nayan did a great job in Bodyguard and in Kaavalan Asin shows that she's no less talented. Naughty, compassionate and mature all at once, she displays a melange of emotions with ease. But the twinkle in her eyes is missing. Mithra Kurian's (she played the same role in Bodyguard) attractive face and poignant expressions are her pluses. As always Raj Kiran is spontaneous and brings in more nuances than Thyagarajan did in the original.
Excellent angles and tones, exotic locations and indoor ambiences make N. K. Ekambaram's cinematography and Mani Susithra's artwork unique.
All the same, Kaavalan isn't devoid of redundant sequences and songs that hamper the narration. Probably commercial constraints made Siddique go in for such elements in an otherwise smooth screenplay. In this era of communication explosion, a father sends his son to a well wisher who lives far away, with a letter, like they did in the good old days! The anachronism isn't something you expect from a maker of Siddique's stature. The college professor is again a clichéd caricature. There are a few such grey areas the director could have paid attention to. Yet the suspenseful story and Vijay's performance make it worth your while.
If you wish to watch Ilaiya Thalapathi in a well-enacted drama, make a beeline for Kaavalan

Vijay Next producers....!

After 'Kavalan' Vijay will do 'Velayudham' for Aascar Films Ravichandran. After that he will do a film for master marketer Kalaipuli Thanu. His third film is going to be even bigger for Super Good Films RB Choudary.

Super Good Films is the banner that gave the first jubilee hit for Vijay in ‘Poove Unakkaga’ and put him on fast track to super stardom. Later films from RBC stable like ‘Thullatha Manamum Thullum’, ‘Love Today’ and ‘Thirupachi’ took Vijay to newer heights. When the magical combination starts work again everybody believe Vijay will be back at the top in all glory.

Vijay's really excited!

Often incidents in reel life are imitations of those that have happened in real life. But the reverse too can happen on occasions. Don't think so? Then, it's time you read this.

Two lovers, who have been in constant touch with each other only over the phone, decided to meet each other in person after watching Vijay's latest film, in which a similar situation is portrayed. The two — Manisekaran from Trichy and Vasantha from Pudukottai — have now decided to get married after their meeting.

The couple, it seems, has invited Vijay to preside over their wedding. Sources claim that Vijay too is very inclined to do so.

Vijay fans stage protest

Tension prevailed outside a theatre complex at Chromepet, a southern suburb of Chennai, Monday morning, after more than 100 fans of Vijay assembled outside the cinema hall to stage a protest.

According to them, several posters of their matinee idol starrer film ‘Kavalan’, which hit the screens on Pongal day, were ‘deliberately’ torn and damaged by miscreants. The fans also alleged that the police failed to take action when they filed a complaint.

Alleging that no case was registered against those involved in the ‘act’, angry fans raised slogans demanding immediate action against the wrong-doers. A large number of policemen were deployed at the spot.

It is to be noted that a lot of uncertainty prevailed over the release of ‘Kavalan’ till the eleventh hour. Vijay fans are of the opinion that a ‘powerful force’ has been working against their matinee idol.

Vijay feels relieved

Vijay is a happy man now as the uncertainity over ‘Kavalan’ was put to an end on Pongal day when the film hit the screens all over the world, much to the celebration of his fans.

“It was only because of Vijay the movie managed to see the light of the day. He wanted his fans not to get disappointed and finally stepped in to ensure the release of Kavalan,” sources in the know say.

Saying that the actor gave some assurances to all those who had opposed the film’s release, sources add only after certain promises from Vijay they had withdrawn their opposition to ‘Kavalan’.

“Vijay is also happy that his fans enjoyed the film, which showed him in a different light,” sources add. Directed by Siddique, ‘Kavalan’, a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’, has Asin and Vadivelu in pivotal roles.

My movies will tell message: Vijay

At a time when expectations are abuzz that Vijay would take the political plunge in the run up to the fast approaching Assembly elections, the actor has said his films will henceforth carry social themes.
“Along with entertainment elements, my forthcoming projects would have ingredients which would make people to think. A good message for the society will also be there,” says the actor.
Son of S A Chandrasekaran, a director whose films are mainly social subjects, Vijay says, “My father would always tell me to infuse a message in my films. But I was reluctant so far as I concentrated on entertainers alone.”
On ‘Kavalan’, his Pongal release, Vijay says, “the treatment by Siddique will be the highlight of the movie. Comedy portions with Vadivelu will sure bring the roof down. It is a wholesome film fit for family viewing.”

Vijay presents watch to Ajith

The talk of the tinsel town is the recent meeting between Vijay and Ajith. The two stars got an opportunity to meet at Binny Mills, which happens to be the shooting venue for both their films. Director Venkat Prabhu, on hearing that Vijay is at the same venue went up to meet the star and created an opportunity for Vijay and Ajith’s meeting.

The unassuming souls spend some time talking about various things personal and professional.  In the afternoon Vijay came for lunch with family to Ajith’s caravan. There Vijay presented Ajith with a stunning watch and Ajith himself cooked and served his special biriyani to Vijay and his family for lunch.

They put all rumours to rest and have proved friends are always friends. When the day was through Ajith and Vijay thanked ‘Mankatha’ director Venkat Prabhu for making the moment happen on his sets.
