Vijay kavalan hit december

Kaavalan, the Vijay-Asin starrer directed by Siddique, will hit the theatres as planned in December. This was asserted by producer/director Shakthi Chidambaram, whose company Cinema Paradise has acquired the worldwide rights of this film. A few days back The Madras High Court stayed the release of Kaavalan for six weeks after a Singapore based company Tantra Incorporated filed a petition.

According to J.K. Saravanan, proprietor of Tantra films, producer Ramesh had promised the overseas rights to him but recently Ramesh has sold the rights to Cinema Paradise.

Talking to this newspaper, Shakthi Chidambaram said that he and Tantra had reached an out-of-court settlement and the problem was solved amicably. The court has vacated the stay and the movie will release as scheduled in the second week of December, he revealed. He continues, “December is a lucky month for Vijay. Most of his films released in December are blockbusters.”

Right from the beginning, Kaavalan has met with one problem after the other. Earlier, theatre owners and distributors refused to screen Vijay films after the dismal show of his previous film Sura. Later, the movie’s leading lady Asin came in for a lot of criticism because she visited Sri Lanka despite the south film industry’s warning. The problem was solved after Nadigar Sangham intervened.

Kaavalan is the remake of Malayalam hit Bodyguard, which had Dileep and Nayanthara in the lead. This movie was also directed by Siddique. The director and Vijay are coming together for the second time after the duo made the super hit Friends.

Vijay, who is hoping to recreate the magic has said, “It is not a typical action film with the usual elements like an opening song. It’s a beautiful, simple romantic comedy. Siddique is known for his slapstick comedy rather than dialogue-oriented stories, Kaavalan is no different. And again with Vadivelu’s antics, the film has unlimited humour.”

 

Court stayed Kavalan release

The Madras High Court today stayed the release of Vijay starrer ‘Kavalan’, which was scheduled to hit the screens next month.

A petition was filed by J K Saravanan, proprietor of Tantra films from Singapore against Romesh Babu, producer of ‘Kavalan’. He alleged in his plea that Romesh had promised overseas rights to him for Rs five crore and took Rs 1.5 crore as advance.

But now Romesh Babu has sold the rights to Cinema Paradise. When I sought an explanation through email, he threatened to cancel the agreement.

The petition came up for hearing before Judge S Rajeswaran. After hearing the petition, the Judge stayed the release of the movie for the next six weeks and sent a notice to the producer.

The Bollywood '3 Idiots' was shot in Dehradun and though Shankar's version is not set at the original location, buzz is that a similar set will be created in Delhi. Vijay and Mahesh Babu will play Aamir's role in the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively while Arya and Jeeva will reprise Madhavan and Sharman Joshi's roles. Though a lot of thinking went into the casting for the principal played by Boman Irani in the original, Shankar finally zeroed in on Sathyaraj. Also, there were a lot of speculations around the lead actress and buzz was that Ileaneh will play Kareena's role.and booked for 1.5cr in tamil
Sources have it that some slight changes are being brought about in the script. It can be recalled that the casting for the South versions of the film has been going on since long. Actors Simbu and Madhavan were supposed to be part of the film but things didn't materialize. Maddy showed no interest in playing the same role

Vijay-Asin "Chemistry was Rocking" in Lavasa

South Indian actors Vijay and Asin have completed the last leg of shooting for ‘Kavalan’, and if reports are anything to go by, the lead pair is ready to set the screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry in a romantic track shot in Lavasa, India’s first planned hill station. ‘Kavalan’ will hit theaters across south India next month and expectations from the film are already sky-high.

In a statement to the media, a source related to ‘Kavalan’ and present during the shoot in Lavasa, says that the entire crew of the film including choreographer Dinesh was very pleased with the performances of Vijay and Asin to the romantic number. The source adds that it is the chemistry that the lead actors share in the film that is USP of ‘Kavalan’ and everyone associated with the upcoming flick is sure of the fact that the romantic number shot in Lavasa will top all music charts in the country.

This is the third time that Vijay and Asin are expected to produce a hit together. Their earlier ventures ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri’ were also successful at the box office. ‘Kavalan’ has been shot at the picturesque location of Lavasa, a small city located near Pune, touted to be the first planned hill station in India. With the wonderful location in the background, and the sizzling chemistry of the lead pair, ‘Kavalan’ may well turn out o be one of the biggest hits this year.

"எம்.ஜி.ஆரோட காலம்வேற. மொழிப் பற்றும், திராவிடப் பாரம்பரியமும் ஊறிக்கிடந்த காலம். அப்ப அவர் சொன்னகருத்து சரியாக இருந்தது. மக்களிடம் எடுபட்டது. இப்போ இருக்கிற இளைய தலைமுறை அரசியலைசினிமாவோடு கலக்கிறதை ஆதரிப்பாங்களானு சந்தேகமா இருக்கு. இந்த விஷயத்தில் இளைஞர்களின்எண்ணம் என்னன்னு தெரிஞ்சுக்க எனக்கும் ஆசையா இருக்கு. அதே சமயம் காலமும், நேரமும்,இடமும், சூழலும் அனுமதிக்கும்போது, என்னை அந்த இடத்தில் கொண்டுபோய் வைக்கும்போது, நிச்சயம்சினிமாவில் என் கருத்துக்களை வைப்பேன். அப்படி செய்யத் தயங்கவும் மாட்டேன்... அஞ்சவும்மாட்டேன்!"

"ஆமாம். திருமண வரவேற்பில்ஜெயலலிதா மேடத்தை எதிர்பாராத விதமாகச் சந்தித்தேன். அவங்க மணமக்களை பார்த்துத் திரும்பும்போது,நான் தம்பதியை வாழ்த்த படி ஏறிட்டு இருந்தேன். அவ்வளவு அவசரத்திலும் கூட்ட நெரிசலிலும்எனக்காக சில நிமிடங்களை ஒதுக்கினார். ரொம்ப சந்தோஷமா இருந்தது. 'எப்படி இருக்கீங்க?'ன்னுபாசமா விசாரிச்சாங்க. 'அம்மா, வெவ்வேற ஊர்கள்ல உங்கள் மேடைப் பேச்சு, கூடின கூட்டம்எல்லாத்தையும் டி.வி-யில் பார்த்தேன். ரொம்ப நல்லா இருக்கு'ன்னு சொன்னேன். ஆர்வமாக்கேட்டுச் சிரிச்சாங்க. "எனக்கு ஷங்கர் சாரைநினைச்சா, பெருமையா இருக்கு. யார் வேண்டுமானாலும், என்ன வேண்டுமானாலும், யோசிக்கலாம்.ஆனால், திரையில் கொண்டுவருவது... அது வேற மாதிரி பொறுப்பு. அதை எப்பவும் அருமையா செய்துட்டேஇருக்கார். ஒரு தமிழனா எனக்கு சந்தோஷமா இருக்கு. அமீர் டைரக்ட் செய்த 'பருத்திவீரன்'வந்து மூணு வருஷமாகிவிட்டது. ஆனால், அந்த சினிமா இன்னும் என் மனசைவிட்டுப்போகலை. ஒவ்வொருஃப்ரேமும் மனசுக்குள் இருந்துக்கிட்டே இருக்கு. அமீர் இந்த மாதிரி நல்ல சினிமா செய்தால்,நாம் கொண்டாடலாம். நான் கொண்டாடுறேன். அடுத்து சசிகுமார். அவர் பண்ணின படம் 'சுப்பிரமணியபுரம்'.முதல் படமே இப்படி பரபரப்பில்... சமீபத்தில் யாராவது இப்படிச் செய்து இருக்காங்களான்னுபார்த்தா, ஞாபகம் வரலை. எனக்கு எல்லோரையும் பிடிக்கும். என்ன... இவங்களைக் கொஞ்சம்அதிகமாப் பிடிக்கும்!" 

Vijay Recommend Death sentence

as an actor or a father,

but echoing the sentiments

of crores of people,

 Vijay has come out with a strong reaction to the news of the gruesome murders of a 10-year-old girl student and her younger brother in Coimbatore.

In a statement, the actor, who was shooting for his next film ‘Velayutham’, near Coimbatore, said, “I was literally shocked when I came to know of the brutal incident in which the two kids had been killed.”

“The pain that their parents would have experienced is unimaginable. Such horrible incidents should no longer be spared. An immediate end should be put to such unacceptable acts,” he said.

Stating that criminals involving in such inhumane acts manage to escape using the loopholes in the system, the actor said a law should be enacted to put such persons to death in a public place.

“Criminals should fear punishment. Only then we will be able to get rid of this menace. So the government should consider such a sentence. I am saying this not as an actor or a father, but echoing the sentiments of crores of people,” he added.
