TRIPLE Bonanza for Vijay fans!

Vijay is at an important cross road now. With controversies and criticisms mounting Ilaya Thalapathi has finally decided to put everything to rest and make every body happy.

As the first step Vijay has decided to release three films this year to make the theatre owners happy. Siddique's ‘Kaavalkaran’ is 60% complete and is generating good trade talk so far. ‘Jayam’ Raja is also ready for ‘Velayudham’ and there will be an official announcement next week.

Also there is news about Vijay giving his consent to do the remake of ‘3-Idiots’ in Tamil. It’s likely that Vijay will announce this at the launch function of ‘Velayudham’.

Vijay is Siddique's actor

After a long time a Vijay film is progressing without his regular codes in place. Heavy mettle intro song, punch dialogues, flying villains etc are put on the side by Siddique in ‘Kaavalkaran’, sources say.

With criticisms from all over for his regular routine flicks of late Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay has finally given into his director. In ‘bodyguard remake’ it is the director who is calling the shots, they say. There won’t be a intro song elevating hero to a super hero or punch dialogues at the wrong places or villains flying all over at a breath of the hero in ‘bodyguard remake’.

So as clay in the hands of God Vijay has submitted himself into the hands of Siddique. The sudden shift of attitude may be surprising for many but all Vijay lovers are seeing this as a change for the better.

After the earlier Siddique-Vijay combo ‘Friends’ is an all time classic. We expect them to repeat the feat.

ஆவேசமாய் ‘நாம் தமிழர்’ கட்சி ஆரம்பித்திருக்கும் இயக்குனர் சீமான். அரசியல் பணிகளுக்கிடையே ஒரு படத்தை இயக்கவுள்ளார். மிகவும் வலிமை வாய்ந்த கதையாகவும், ஒவ்வொரு தமிழனையும் யோசித்துப் பார்க்க வைக்கும் காட்சிகளுமாக அதிரடியாய் களம் இறங்க இருக்கிறார்.

விஜய்தான் ஹீரோ. விஜய்க்கு இது முக்கியப் படமாக இருக்கும். ஏற்கனவே இப்படி ஒரு கதை இருப்பது விஜய்க்குத் தெரியும். இப்போது வேண்டாமே என்று தள்ளிப்போட்டு வந்திருக்கிறார். அதற்கான நேரம் இப்போது வந்திருக்கிறது. அதனால் ஒப்புக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.

‘காலைப்புலி’ தாணு தயாரிக்கும் படம் என்றால் பிரம்மாண்டத்துக்கு பஞ்சமே இருக்காது. ‘புது கெட்டப்பில் நடிங்க இளைய தளபதி’ என்று ஓயாமல் கோஷமிட்டு வந்த அவருடைய ரசிகர்களுக்கு தீனி போடும் வகையில் வித்தியாசமான கெட்டப்பில் குதிக்க இருக்கிறார் விஜய்.

மேலும் படத்தின் வசனம் நெருப்பு போல இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக ஒரு டைரக்டர் குழுவே வேலை பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

vijay will hit back

Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay has hit back at his detractors within the industry by doing two films simultaneously, and planning to start a third film by August.

Now, Vijay, instead of getting into a slanging match with exhibitors and distributors, has quietly begun work on two films. For nearly a decade after he became a superstar, Vijay has been doing only one film at a time, and having a release once in a year. Now, the actor is working on two films — bodyguard remake, and Velayutham — simultaneously and will also start work on the Tamil remake of 3 Idiots.

Says Siddique, who’s directing the actor for bodyguard remake, , “We are now shooting the college campus scenes of the film with Vijay and Asin in Vellore and after this schedule, nearly 70 percent of the film will be complete. It is going to be a different type of Vijay entertainer, which is sure to be lapped up by the family audiences.”

On Sunday, Hansika Motwani flew down to Chennai from Mumbai to do a photo shoot with the star at a studio in Saligramam, for producer Aascar Ravichandran’s Jayam Raja directed Velayutham. Vijay will have two heroines — Genelia and Hansika — in the film and will play a fictitious ‘man of the masses’ created by a female journalist. For the first time ever, Harris Jayaraj will provide music for a Vijay film.

The producer of Velayutham, Aascar Ravichandran, is veteran producer and distributor who controls more than 30 screens in NSC area, and has a proven track record with hits like Anniyan and Dasavatharam. Remember, it was Ravichandran who made Vijay a superstar when he took over the marketing of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai in 1996. A source close to Vijay said, “Vijay sir is reworking his mass hero image to suit the taste of family audiences. Kavalkaran and Velayutham are carefully planned out projects and he is sure to bounce back with these films followed by the 3 Idiots remake.”

Madhi to replace ekhambaram

Cameraman Madhi who started off with ‘Punnagai Desam’ is going from strength to strength. He has done a variety of films of different genre to showcase his ability. Oru Kalluriyin Kadhai, Ninaithale, Silambattam are some of Madhi's earlier films.

Films like Veyil and Nepali brought feathers to the cap of Madhi. And with ‘Paiyaa’ Madhi has become one of the hot shot cameramen in demand.

Now Madhi is in the big league after ‘Jayam’ Raja signing him to shoot Vijay in ‘Velayudham’. After Karthi, Madhi has got the opportunity to work with another major star.

‘POO’ PARVATHY’S ROLE IN THE VIJAY-STARRER

The Vijay-starrer Velayudham is taking shape sooner than we expected. The movie is to be launched on May 27th in Chennai. There will be two ladies in the film and one weighty sister character.Who gets to bag this sister role remains the million dollar question in Kollywood. While some sources say that Saranya Mohan is under consideration, a few others point to ‘Poo’ Parvathy. The actress impressed the movie buffs with her exemplary performance in Poo but did not take up any offers in Kollywood due to unsuitable roles coming her way. Looks like Parvathy also has a strong chance of bagging this character

Who get chance for velayutham! ?

The works for Vijay's new film ‘Velayudham’ directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja is silently progressing even as Vijay is busy with ‘Remake of bodyguard’. A grand launching ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium is also being worked out by Aascar Ravichandran of Aascar films.

Meanwhile the gripping buzz at the moment is the choice of heroines. Sources close to the film say ‘Velayudham’ will have two heroines and there are three girls under discussion. Genelia who earlier did ‘Sachin' with Vijay, Hansika Motwani who has become a hot heroine even before the release her first Tamil film ‘Mappillai’ opposite Dhanush and Kajal Agarwal who is high on the priority list after ‘Mahadheera’.
‘Jayam’ Raja is likely to announce the final cast as early as this month end.

‘Jayam’ Raja who gave Genelia her first hit in Tamil has signed her for his film with Vijay. Vijay's 52nd film which is tentatively titled 'Velayudham' will be her next big thing. ‘Jayam’ Raja was particular that Genelia play the role because of her bubbly attitude which the character also wants very much. Grand event for Velayutham

Aascar Ravichandran is planning a mega event for the launch of Velayudham. The film will have Vijay in the lead role. If sources are to be believed, the movie will be launched in a grand scale at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

The director of Velayudham, Jayam Raja, will be trying out a directorial venture which is not a remake for the first time. It may be noted that all his previous films were Telugu remakes.

The movie is expected to be launched in the month of June. The leading lady is yet to be finalized.

Remember Ravichandran conducted the audio launch function of Kamal Haasan's K S Ravikumar directed 'Dasavatharam' in the same place, and the event was attended by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Jackie Chan among others.

It is said that the launch of the movie directed by 'Jayam' Raja would be held at the Nehru Stadium by June and those at Aascar are busy making arrangements for the grand event.

Vijay & Asin in Vellore!

The Vijay-Asin starrer, directed by Siddique and tentatively titled Kavalkaran, has started its second schedule at VIT campus in Vellore from May 16.
The film is a remake of the director’s Bodyguard in Malayalam, and nearly 50 percent of the shoot is happening in a college campus. As per the story Raj Kiran a big businessman appoints Vijay as a bodyguard for his college going daughter played by Asin.
The film is basically a love story, and director Siddique keeping in mind Vijay’s mass hero image has made some minor changes to his original version. The buzz is that Vijay is trying to work out a new romantic image with this film.
Inspite of being the holiday time there was a huge crowd on location at the VIT campus to see Vijay and Asin. Last time such crowds were seen was when Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai shot for Endhiran at the same location.

Directing Vijay
I have worked with Vijay for the film Friends. But he was not a mass hero then. Now things have changed and he has a big fan following. However, he hasn’t changed a bit; he is the same sprightly guy. Acting comes to him naturally. Stardom hasn’t affected him and he continues dancing and fighting very well.

Asin’s Kollywood comeback
I have known her even before she entered the film industry as she also hails from Ernakulam. She rose to this position due to her hard work and planning. She is organised and highly disciplined.

Scripting a change?
Though changes in the original have been done keeping in mind Vijay’s mass hero image, the story thread remains the same. As I am used to working with superstars, I pen the script keeping in mind their image and hence it’s not a difficult task. And so far, none of them have interfered in my script.

Siddique’s special touch
I try to give my stories a fresh appeal every time by making sure it doesn’t reflect or resemble my earlier scripts. I haven’t adapted other writers’ works so far. I’m not keen to do so because if it is a story by a well-known author, then it might have already created certain visuals in the readers’ mind. If I move away from it and treat it differently, people may find it difficult to accept it.

Writer vs director
Creativity lies in writing stories and it gives me a lot of satisfaction. I read out all my stories to my family members and gauge their reactions and make changes accordingly. However, I’m my best critic.

The reader
I have been a voracious reader since my childhood. But over the years, I have observed a change in my preferences of books. Now, I’m reading a lot of philosophical books. Also, when I re-read old books, I get a different visual and experience.

A new vijay
Unlike Vijay’s recent films, there won’t be any hero introduction songs in my flick. You will see a new Vijay in this film; he’ll leave a lasting impression on the minds of audiences with his romantic image. The film is a love story but told in a different way. The other highlight is that the film has music by Vidyasagar. Also, actress Roja is making a comeback with it.

vijay return

Vijay, who went on a vacation to Bangkok a few days ago, has now returned back to Chennai. The actor’s trip forbade him from participating in director Siddique’s daughter’s wedding. However, a very thoughtful Vijay ensured that his wishes reached the couple with his bouquet.On his return, the Ilayathalapathi is gearing up for the next schedule of Bodyguard remake. It is said that with this schedule the film could be wrapped up to enable its release soon.

Vijay's New Velayutham

Vijay’s next film, where he teams up with director Jayam Raja, has been titled as Velayudham, we hear. The Ilayathalapathy is currently shooting for the Siddique directed movie the title for his future venture comes in as a surprise.
The heroine search is still on and several leading ladies are under consideration, sources report. Devi Sri Prasad has been signed up to score the music

Vijay is religiously following his potboiler tactics but sadly not everything works. Sura is the classic case in question where he plays all the heroic tricks to save a fisher community, woos Tamannah and the fly-high stunts.
