The film has Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana and Sathyaraj in the lead.
The powerful role of Boman Irani has gone to Sathyaraj while Sathyan will be stepping into Omi Vaidhya’s shoes. Director-actor SJ Suryah will make a cameo in Nanban and play Javed Jefri’s character. Ileana is the leading lady and Anuya play her sister in the film. .
As per sources in the 3 idiots camp, it was Vijay who recommended S J Suryah's name for the vital role in the film. CT understands that Vijay, who plays Aamir Khan's role in the remake, has a lot of comic confrontation scenes with S J Suryah. The actor, who is apparently shooting for the film in Ooty with Jiiva and Srikanth, could not be reached for comment.
The technical list includes Harris Jayaraj who will provide music, Manoj Paramahamsa (cinematography), Muthuraj (art), Anthony (editing), Na Muthukumar (lyrics), Shankar and Madan Kargy (dialogues), Vimalji (production designer), Raju Eashwaran (executive producer), Gemini Film Circuit(producers).
Scenes involving Jiiva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Sathyan and S J Suryah are being shot in Ooty for the next ten days. Vijay's portions would be canned from 25 February.
