‘Nanban’ shoots at Chennai mall

The ‘Nanban’ team is shooting at a brisk pace thanks to director Shankar’s eye for detail and perfection. The film which is a remake of the very successful Bollywood film ‘3 Idiots’ like its Hindi counterpart has a galaxy of stars in Tamil too. Recently the director of the film with his cast and crew were seen at Chennai’s Ampa Mall in Amijikkarai. Director Shankar was seen calling the shoots with the camera zooming in on the hero of the film Vijay and his pair Ileana.

At a public location like Ampa Mall where shoppers and window shoppers are in abundance one can expect how difficult it becomes for the film crew to shoot, and when the cast includes “Ilayathalapathi” Vijay and the director is Shankar, then things become more complicated and controlling the crowd becomes hectic. The public was flocking to have a look at Vijay as well as the scene that was being shot. Director Shankar, through his assistants, made sure that none in the crowd was clicking pictures or recording the scene being shot.

People who were present at the spot revealed that Vijay was looking his cool casual self and dressed casually in jeans, and Ileana looked fetching in a body hugging designer costume. Shankar has roped in Harris Jayaraj for the music and as usual the expectations are running quite high. Sources indicate that the music for the film is nearing completion.
‘Nanban’ is being produced under the Gemimi Film Circuit banner and has a huge star cast with Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj and S.J. Suryiah in important roles. The story is based on India’s most read novelist, Chetan Bhagat’s book ‘Five Point Someone.’
