It’s not without reason that Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry are praised for their hospitality. An event that recently took place near Pondicherry emphasises just this fact. Actor Vijay, who’s busy shooting for his 50th film Sura near Hanumanthaiah Kuppam in Pondy, recently played the perfect host to close to 2,500 people, who were treated to a feast.
Sources close to the actor say that he took the decision to treat them after he kept getting repeated invitations from scores of bystanders, who had gathered to watch the shooting of the film, to come to their homes and dine with them.
Says the source, “The set that has been erected here is really huge and houses close to 2,000 homes and temples. A lot of people from the neighbouring areas come here every day to watch Vijay act. Most of these people kept inviting him for a feast at their homes. Vijay realised that he wouldn’t be able to visit all their homes. So, instead, he organised a feast and invited them all with their families to it. What’s more, he served them food and ate with them.”
Now, that’s what makes us call him a perfect host!
