When this was brought to Vijay's notice, he appealed to all his fans not to celebrate his birthday and instead they should help the poor and needy by distributing various welfare measures.
The star has said that arrangements should be made to distribute books, uniforms, sarees and other such goods to poor people. A function to this effect was held recently in several places in Chennai and some more are being planned on June 22.
