Vijay is a happy man now as the uncertainity over ‘Kavalan’ was put to an end on Pongal day when the film hit the screens all over the world, much to the celebration of his fans.
“It was only because of Vijay the movie managed to see the light of the day. He wanted his fans not to get disappointed and finally stepped in to ensure the release of Kavalan,” sources in the know say.
Saying that the actor gave some assurances to all those who had opposed the film’s release, sources add only after certain promises from Vijay they had withdrawn their opposition to ‘Kavalan’.
“Vijay is also happy that his fans enjoyed the film, which showed him in a different light,” sources add. Directed by Siddique, ‘Kavalan’, a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’, has Asin and Vadivelu in pivotal roles.

‘Kavalan’: The magic of Tantra
Tantra Films, one of the popular distributors of Tamil movies in countries abroad, has acquired the FMS (foreign management screening) rights of Vijay starrer ‘Kavalan’, which is getting ready for a December release.
Although many of the national and regional markets are yet to make business, what with the not-so-enthusiastic performance of Vijay’s previous films, international market has already been sold out. Tantra Films has fetched the movie for Rs 6 crore to be released outside India.
It’s also learnt that the Kerala rights of Kaavalan has been sold at 1.5 crore to Thameens Films. Though Kaavalan is a remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard, the Vijay craze among the fans in Kerala has done the magic.

For those who want to know more about Saravana, he is one of the co-producers of ‘Chennai 600028’, the Venkat Prabhu directorial venture which set a new trend in Kollywood.
Meanwhile, sources in ‘Kavalan’ unit say Vijay is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a blockbuster. “The last schedule of the shooting is currently on and Vijay, with the help of Siddique, is monitoring each and every aspect of the film. He moves on to the next scene only after double checking it on the monitor”.
They add: “The film has shaped up well by Siddique. The Vijay-Vadivelu duo will set the screen on fire with their terrific on-screen chemistry, which would be visible after Friends, Vaseegara and Bhagavathy”

Vijay: Caught 'unaware'
All of us know that Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay's forthcoming flick Kaavalan's title was changed twice but not many know that Vijay himself was not aware of one of the changes"Right from the beginning, the title of the film was a big problem. In fact, I myself don't know who kept the title Kaaval Kadhal. Suddenly, it was all over the place. But now that the title is Kaavalan, I feel a positive vibe," gushes the star.

IT IS NOT A VIJAY FILM, SAYS VIJAY
Vijay has told his fans not to expect a Vijay film in Kaavalan. The actor said that the film will be totally different from what the fans are used to in the recent past. This means no punch dialogues and gravity-defying stunts.
Vijay also revealed that Kaavalan will be on the lines of his smash hit Friends. He added that Asin’s role in the film has come out very well. Kaavalan is the remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard, directed by Siddique. It is worth mentioning here that Siddique had said that he had modified the script of the original version to suit Vijay.

Earlier, it was reported that the film was titled Kavalkkaaran.
Later, it was suggested that the film was called Kaaval Kadhal. Putting rumours and speculations to rest, the makers of the film have made an official statement, saying the film, which has Asin playing the lead opposite Vijay, will now be called Kaavalan.
The unit, it seems, arrived at the title after much deliberation. A source close to the unit says, "Several titles were considered before finally deciding on this one." The source also discloses that an important sequence for the film was recently shot at a popular educational institution in Vellore.
The source adds, "Almost 80 per cent of the movie is over. The remaining part will be filmed in Kerala and a few European nations."

Vijay 51st flim Kaavalan
Vijay’s new film with Siddique has gone for a title change for the third time. When the film started had the MGR film title ‘Kaavalkaran’ hoping to cash in on the ever green popularity of MGR films. But when the original producers of the MGR movie Sathya Movies objected, the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’.
But the second title did not find encouraging reactions from even among Vijay fans. So now the title has been again changed to ‘Kaavalan’.
