Everyone knows that Ilayathalapathy Vijay has signed a film with Aascar Ravichandran, which will be the 51st film of his career. The movie, to be directed by Jeyam Raja, will reportedly be called Thalapathi, which was the title of the Rajinikanth-Mammootty blockbuster released way back in 1991. The Rajini movie produced by G.V.Films was a cult classic directed by Mani Ratnam.
Sources say that the similarity ends with the title. While Mani’s film dealt with the friendship between two gangsters, the new movie will be a family entertainer with loads of action. None other than Asin, it is being said, will star opposite Vijay.
Meanwhile, Vijay is pleased that his 50th film Sura under Rajkumar’s direction has shaped up well and there is heavy competition among big production houses to purchase it outright.
