Vijay celebrates Raja’s birthday

Today, the sets of Vijay’s forthcoming flick, ‘Velayudham’ saw its team geared up in perfect celebration mode.

While the team was gathered for a shoot at the industry’s dearest Binny mill at Meenambakkam, near the airport, director Jayam Raja received a pleasant surprise from his team.

The protagonist of the film, Vijay, brought a cake that bore the wordings, ‘settai sadhuvuku pirandha naal vazhthukal.’ Meaning, we wish a happy birthday to our ‘innocent’ prankster. Raja celebrated his birthday in the presence of Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay, cameraman Priyan and the crew of ‘Velayudham.’

We must remember that it was Ilaya Thalapathi who was behind the birthday surprises of other members of the film including Hansika, Saranya Mohan and cameraman Priyan.

While there are stars who throw tantrums at the sets, Vijay’s actions must be appreciated, as he is one of the top heroes in Kollywood today. Way to go Vijay! We wish Jayam Raja on his birthday and hope that the movie works wonders for him, adding yet another feather to his cap

Genilia about Velayutham in twitter!

Genelia said in twitter that she is back to the Velyautham sets for the climax scene. The actress has said that director Jayam Raja has planned an elaborate climax and is filming it with the lead stars. Vijay, Genelia, Hansika and others are shooting together and this shooting is expected to go on for a week or so before Raja wraps it up completely.
Soon after Velayutham shooting is over, Vijay will move over to Nanban shooting which is currently going on in Europe.
With Velayutham shooting reaching the final stages, the audio launch and film release dates are expected to be announced very soon.

Vijay's Velayudham in final stages

Vijay's much awaited film Velayudham directed by Jayam Raja is is in its final stages. Vijay will reportedly enact a typical Rajinikanth's Annamalai type milkman role, who bashes baddies with the help of an investigative television reporter. This mass entertainer stars Genelia, Hansika and Saranya Mohan, Santhanam, M.S. Bhaskar, Sathyan, Pandirajan and Sayaji Shinde in pivotal roles.
According to director Raja, Velayudham will be a non-stop rollicking mass movie with all commercial ingredients packaged to provide maximum entertainment. The buzz is that in a bid to hit out at Vijay's detractors, there will be a lot of punch dialogues in this film produced by Aascar Ravichandran.
Vijay Antony has come out with some peppy mass songs that will surely become chartbusters. The film is expected to grace theatres in August and reports suggest that Tamil Nadu's new CM J. Jayalalithaa will launch the music of this film.

Velayutham songs..!

We have interesting details about two ‘scintillating songs’ in ‘Velayudham’, Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay’s forthcoming film, directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja and produced by Aascar Films V Ravichandran.

“A song whose starting lines are Sonna puriadhu….sollukkul adangadhu… was shot recently on a grand set. It will be the introduction song of Vijay in Velayudham,” sources in the unit tell us.

“While the lyrics speak about the bond the Ilaya Thalapathi shares with his fans, Vijay Antony’s music has provided the much-needed pep a Vijay intro songs needs. It will be a colourful song,” they say.

“The other number that was recently picturised was a duet,” they say and add: “the song Mayakkiputta ennai mayakkiputta shot on Vijay and Hansika Motwani will be remembered for a long time by (music) lovers.”

Velayutham Posponted..?

The buzz is getting bigger for Vijay's Velayudham.

M Raja the director of the film in an interview to a newspaper said: "Velayudham will be a non-stop rollicking mass movie with all commercial ingredients packaged to provide maximum entertainment. 85 per cent of the film is complete."

Raja added that the producer, Aascar Ravichandran, has spent lavishly on it to make it rich. For one particular song, he spent nearly Rs 2Cr.

The director said out of five songs two more remain to be shot, which will be done in Europe in May/June.

Meanwhile the trade feels that Velayudham will not make it for Vijay's birthday (June 22), as the post production work will take time. A more realistic release date for the big budget bonanza would be around
August 15.

Vijay’s b’day gift!

Producer Aascar Ravichandran and director Jeyam Raja are making every effort to release Vijay’s highly-anticipated flick Velayudham on his birthday, which falls on June 22.

The mass entertainer, which stars Vijay, Hansika and Genelia, is 80 per cent complete and the word around town is that the songs and action sequences have turned out astonishingly well.
Vijay plays a milkman, while Saranya Mohan appears in a bubbly role as Vijay’s sister.
Genelia will be seen as an investigative journalist and Hansika will portray a village belle.
A sensuous song, composed by Vijay Antony, was recently picturised on Hansika and Vijay in the city.
Those present on the sets were raving about the sizzling chemistry between Vijay and Hansika during the shoot. There are some intimate scenes in the song, where the actress, clad in glamorous outfits, was grooving with the Kaavalan star, said a unit hand who watched the sequence being shot.
In the meantime, Vijay has flown to the Andamans for his upcoming flick Nanban.

15 villains for 'Velayudham',!

CHENNAI: The shooting of Vijay-starrer 'Velayudham' is going on in full swing. The film is almost at its finishing stage with just the climax and a song to be shot. Produced by Aascar Films, the film is directed by M Raja.
In this film, Vijay plays a milk vendor. Genelia, who teamed up with Vijay in 'Sachin', now plays a journalist in 'Velayudham'. The film also stars Hansika Motwani.

The brother-sister sentiment between Saranya Mohan and Vijay is said to be one of the highlights. The introductory song of Vijay has been shot in Thirumurthymalai for a whopping budget of Rs 2 crore.

Apart from 13 villains in the film, two popular villains from Bollywood have been roped in. Vijay Antony has scored the music. The cast includes Santhanam, MS Bhaskar, Ilavarasu, Pandiyarajan and Raghav.

Vijay Role On Velayutham.!

Vijay, needless to say, is a great admirer of Superstar Rajinkanth and has followed certain mannerisms of the top actor in some of his films. The Ilaya Thalapathi is now going a step ahead, one has to say.

If sources are to be believed, he is playing a milkman, a role made popular by Rajini in ‘Annamalai’, in ‘Velayudham’ directed by M Raja. “The story will suddenly shift from a village to the city,” sources say.

They add: “Though Vijay is doing a milkman’s role, it has no similarity to that of Rajini’s in ‘Annamalai’. It is a fresh one conceived by director Raja and the actor has given his best to it.”
Produced by Aascar V Ravichandran, ‘Velayudham’ has music by Vijay Antony. Genelia plays a television journalist while Hansika Motwani plays a village belle and both woo the Ilaya Thalapathi.

Velayutham audio for a record price

Velayutham’s audio has been sold for an astounding sum to Sony Music. The music house major is known for lapping up the audio rights of several big banner films and Velayutham has just joined this long list. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, Velayutham stars Vijay in the lead.

The music scored by Vijay Anthony seems to have impressed Sony Music officials so much so that they decided to pay a record price for its audio rights. Velayutham is directed by Jayam Raja and has Genelia and Hansika Motwani playing the female leads

Tom Delmar all praises for Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay

Tom Delmar of ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Braveheart’ fame shares with IndiaGlitz insights about his experience working with Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay, on Vijay’s upcoming flick ‘Velayudham’.

“I was given a call by Ram and Oscar films, asking whether I can work with Vijay for a very complex piece of action in this film. It’s a scene on a moving train with highly dangerous acts. Vijay was fantastic and he’s a great star who is very active, physically. I demanded a great deal of him on that train and he delivered 100%. The audience can definitely look forward to seeing the film,” says an excited Tom.

He also adds that the team trained Vijay to do the most dynamic physical action on top of the train. “I’ve got to complement him again and again for he was absolutely wonderful to work with. He never complained, working under the blazing sun all day long and he just delivered, and delivered,” he adds.

A source close to the ‘Velayudham’ teams says that there are helicopter thrashes, train explosions and a lot more action-packed stunts in the movie. Looks like there’s definitely a treat for Ilaya Thalapathi’s fans on his birthday, for that’s when this movie is scheduled for release

Vijay wish , Vision

“I always wanted to do a film with Vijay. My longtime wish has come true with ‘Velayudham’, which is about a commonman’s vision to set thing rights in the society,” says ‘Jayam’ Raja.

The director, who is known for delivering hits non-stop, is excited and thrilled about working with the Ilaya Thalapathi. “Only Vijay could do justice for the role he is playing in Velayudham,” he says.

“The challenge in front of me is to justify the mass image of Vijay, without any compromise in the logic. I am sure that ‘Velayudham’ will be a real treat to his fans,” Raja says with all hope.

Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, most part of ‘Velayudham’ is complete. “Vijay Antony has come out with stunning songs. We are planning to release the film soon,” concludes the director.
